On top of commercial videography, they work on feature films and documentaries.
Many of the companies on our list (including us!) are dedicated to both live-action and animated commercial videography. So, we understand quite well that it can be a difficult decision to choose between these two very different styles, so let’s compare what factors come into play in both types of productions.
Most of the time, if you can imagine it, you can animate it. A character that looks and feels similar to your target audience to a tee? Possible with animation. A unicorn planting a flag of your brand on the Moon? No problem at all! An attraction park full of living dinosaurs? Oh wait, that’s an actual live-action film, oops!
The point is that animation offers a very ample variety of options when it comes to storytelling. With live-action commercial videography, on the other hand, the stories you can tell are limited by reality itself… unless you are Steven Spielberg, of course.
The limitations of reality mentioned in the previous point give live-action production one of its best qualities: realism.
This doesn’t mean that animated video can’t imitate reality, especially considering the impressive qualities of 2.5D and 3D animation. However, the nature of live-action gives its pieces a human touch that can be what your company is looking for.
Here, there’s one clear winner.
Animated commercial video productions are generally more affordable than their live-action counterparts, even high-quality animated productions.
Needless to mention, the cost of any kind of commercial videography will depend significantly on the size of the video commercial production. That said, even small live-action endeavors usually entail hiring many professionals for both behind-the-scenes and in-camera roles.
Remember how I mentioned that an animated piece can be adapted to the client’s feedback in the post-production stage? Well, it’s not that easy for live-action commercial video production companies. Once the filming is done, the video can be edited up to a point based on the existing footage. This limits its adaptability to changes required by the client. Sure, you can go and film it again… but that involves a lot of extra work and costs.
Whether we’re talking about an animated or a live-action commercial videography, the process is made up of three main stages: pre-production, production (not to be confused with the name of the whole process), and post-production. Now, let’s see how those are carried out in most commercial video production companies.
Let’s go over some questions that might be on your mind about commercial videography.
Needless to say, this answer depends highly on the length of the video, how fast you need it done, the company’s expertise, and whether it’s an animated or live-action piece.
On one hand, a well-crafted 60 to 90-second animated video can take from five to nine weeks to complete. For a video of similar duration, a straightforward live-action commercial piece can generally take up to six weeks.
But there’s a reason why I’ve emphasized the word ‘straightforward’. You see, in the development of a live-action video, you depend on the time constraints of the cast and crew, the availability of the filming location, and more. These factors can increase the project’s turnaround time and are significantly reduced when working with animation commercial video production companies.
Another answer that varies from video to video.
If we’re talking about a live-action project, you can expect a price range between $15,000 and $50,000. The exact number will depend on the location, the number of actors, and the size and expertise of the crew.
If you’re looking for an animated video of high quality, you’ll find mid-tier and professional-level studios typically charging between $6,000 and 15,000 per minute.
Of course, you can find cheaper options for lower quality standards by hiring a freelancer, using templates, or going the DIY route. However, it can be more cost-effective in the long run to invest in a professional-level company that can guarantee a great video, than to spend valuable time and money on more affordable options that might not ensure a good result.

Ultimately, which one is the best commercial video production company for your brand will depend on your specific needs. That said, we believe there are objective characteristics that define a high-value studio and we’re proud that clients recognize them in our own company:
Today you’ve read about 20 companies that also share many of these qualities. Whichever one you choose, what matters is that you pick a company that fits your brand and its needs.
If you want your video to deliver all the amazing benefits commercial videography is known for, it should have the following qualities:
Since commercial videos provide many benefits for raising brand awareness and recognition, it’s recommended to orient them to clients at the top of the funnel. The audience at this stage is just getting to know your products or services and commercial videos are a great way to present them to the world.
How? We recommend digital channels.
Social media is an exceptionally good setting for commercial videos as you can connect with a broader audience through tools like Facebook and YouTube ads. Your landing page is also a solid choice, but note that it can gain even more benefits from an animated explainer video. For both channels, you can enrich your strategy by leveraging SEO techniques in titles and descriptions.
The differences between these two types of videos are in their goals, their target audience, and their tone.
In commercial videography, the idea is to promote a brand, product, or service and connect with potential buyers. This results in a video that usually carries a casual tone, especially in the case of B2C industries.
Meanwhile, corporate videos are created with the purpose of representing brand values or educating the audience, who can be internal or external to the company. The tone becomes more professional, although not necessarily formal. Videos that represent a brand in a corporate event, train newcomer employees, or educate the target audience are great corporate video examples.
At this explainer video company, passion and dedication are the foundation upon which we build every piece we work on. That way, we can make effective commercial videos that not only will help you achieve your marketing goals but also reflect just how much we love what we do.
We also offer many advantages for our clients, so they can lay back and let us do the hard work:
